Spidey in all his glory - Varrus |
| I love this set! I still think this old Spidey toon is the best of the various Spidey toons ever made. I love it precisely because of the hokiness that turns most people off. The first season is awesome, of course. The second season starts off with similar quality as the first but then eventually, somewhere down the line, the series was handed over to Ralph Bakshi and that's where all the weirdness begins. Ninjas + Porn = Win? - Varrus |
| Er... No, not quite. The ninja scenes were laughably bad and the so-called sex scenes were even worse. The "acting" was so so terrible, even in the scenes where these people SHOULD look convincing, if you catch my drift. And the story? It makes no gall-darned sense! Even for a porn! The "actresses" were at least somewhat appealing to look at, especially that second kunoichi, but sadly that's not enough to overcome the many flaws of this film. I highly recommend staying away from this tripe. |

A Holiday Favourite - Varrus |
| I know not a lot of people like this version of Dr. Seuss' story but I love it. Absolutely, I agree that a lot of it is completely over-the-top and maybe a tad excessive but for me it still works just the same. Jim Carrey's performance as the Grinch was great and you've got to love the adorable dog, Max, and of course little Cindy-Lou Who. The set design was fantastic too; they did an awesome job bringing the town of Whoville to life. It looks straight out of a Dr. Seuss book! |
