- "One might propose that I am either insanely brave or quite insane. I'd say insanely loyal. Take your pick. There's insanity in all the answers.
Chris Cooper-"Breach"
- Anger and resentment can stop you in your tracks. That's what I know now. It needs nothing to burn but the air and the life that it swallows and smothers. It's real, though - the fury, even when it isn't. It can change you... turn you... mold you and shape you into something you're not. The only upside to anger, then... is the person you become. [Rest is continued below...]--"The Upside of Anger"- Evan Rachel Wood.
- Hopefully someone that wakes up one day and realizes they're not afraid to take the journey, someone that knows that the truth is, at best, a partially told story. That anger, like growth, comes in spurts and fits, and in its wake, leaves a new chance at acceptance, and the promise of calm. Then again, what do I know? This Skye is falling! - PokerFace |
     |
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. I've seen CBC teen dramas on afternoon Tv more interesting than this. "Dakota Skye" is perhaps trying to channel "Juno," but fails miserably. Dakota (Eileen Boylan) does some narration throughout the film and although Boylan is an okay actress, the plot is just too dull for me to care much about anything she says or does! Zzzzzzzzz.
Forget the super power aspect because her supposed basic ability (NOT super power) to read between the lines like 95% of teenagers can, is not ... More |

Time to Fold! - PokerFace |
     |
Not much can be said about this awful movie. It avoids the dreaded 1 star rating only because it has some occasional poker thrown in, to an otherwise bomb of a movie. Even the poker is pretty bad.
Dominique Swain is awful as "Ace" Anderson, an intern who decides to work with her friends to make some extra money playing poker. The rest of the cast (including Kristen Miller, of "She Spies" fame, in a minor role) do their best to deliver cliched lines that either made me cringe, or chuckle ... More |

Crude, crass and crazy laughs abound - PokerFace |
     |
This crude, but sometimes hilarious HBO series features only a few baseball scenes because it's more about the people living in a small town than the actual game of baseball. It has been renewed for a 2nd season and I am looking forward to it.
I found the first 3 episodes on Disc 1 to be rather uneven, but still enjoyable and full of laughs. Since the series is filled with ad-libs, many of the jokes fall flat, but by the time I put in Disc 2, I started laughing more often and fell in ... More |
