Bio
I first came to zip.ca for the classics, i stayed with zip.ca for the foreign, indies and classics i just coulnd't get at the local rental place. If you look at my list you will not find the latest blockbusters since i find most to be trash and the ones that i think are likely to impress me i like to see in theatres. I really enjoy that zip offers us different categories such as festival winners that i can check out upon release. Anyway check out my list of seen movies if you are looking for anything but the latest!

All of his films make for very entertaining viewing, and even though he was often pigeonholed as a ... More

Got to love Bunuel's movies ! - kap0n3
A young woman is forced by circumstances to leave her convent and visit her uncle. Falling under the influence of her world wise cousin, she tries to maintain her ideals by doing good works but is taken advantage of and despised by the very people she means to help. I can't think of any other film that attacks organized religion with such malice, as well as eloquence, as "Viridiana." The events in the movie are as mythically shocking as anything in the Bible. Bunuel's attitudes towards the ... More

Auteuil's work is flawless ! - kap0n3
The magnificent Daniel Auteuil is ... well ... magnificent once again in this study of a common man whose world turns unaccountably pear-shaped, and who is powerless to get out of the increasingly large hole he's dug for himself. The sequencing of the film is very neatly done - we know from the word 'go' that Faure has done something horrendous, we're pretty sure what it is, and we are led to find out why through a complex series of flashbacks. The art of Auteuil is in his ability to make Faure ... More
