Truely Enjoyable - TheDuke
This entire series is truely enjoyable. The plots are well thought out and intertwine throught the entire series making ther entire show one big storie. It looks into the seedy world of espeonage and the remifications that can occur for taking the lifestyle too lightly. Sydney learns this the hard way, the price her fiances life.Loved it, can't get enough! - jennymay
I absolutely loved this series. I am SO addicted. It is like 007 for girls! The plot twists so many times, and so many new surprises keep popping up! This show definately did not slow down even for a minute. It's so cool. The characters are great. I thought it was very easy to follow along, and I was on the edge of my seat constantly. I couldn't get the next DVD in fast enough after each one ended. LOVE ITSeason One - The_Cunninghams
Do you remember back in the good old days when a TV pilot would simply introduce the characters and give you an idea of what the show was going to be about? Alias is part of a new generation of shows that lay out an incredible amount of plot and numerous characters in the first episode and ask the audience to play catch up. It also joins the ranks of recent TV shows that feel much more like features films. (And are actually more entertaining than many feature films.) But, to its credit, Alias has a very intriguing premise and does a great job of sucking the viewer into the story. And it's very easy to get sucked in by this DVD set, as each episode of the show ends with a cliffhanger. Thus, you'll find yourself saying, "I'll just watch the first 5 minutes of the next one to see what happens.", and that could lead to an all-night marathon.
Another break from the norm is the frequent appearance of big Hollywood names in the guest cast including Quentin Tarantino, Roger Moore and John Hannah in just the first season alone (later seasons see the return of Tarantino's character as well as appearances by David Carradine, David Cronenberg, Isabella Rosselini, Vivica A. Fox, Christian Slater, The Mummy's Arnold Vosloo and for fans of The Office, Ricky Gervais). For a small screen production this is an impressive feat!
The picture and sound quality are top notch and other than my slight reservations with regards to obviousness of some of the CG work, there's nothing here to detract from the quality of the series. The set is backed up with good extras including two very good commentary tracks and the featurette looking at the pilot episode.
