An Awesome Series - klyj
This is one on the best series to ever hit television. it's a shame that it ended however. I personaly liked how every character progressed throughout the series, and was given a chance to be in the spotlight at one time or another. It brings great credability to the actors who protrayed the characters, as some of them were aided greatly by their particpation.Gets much darker - SameOldStory
This season focuses quite a lot on Angel's darkside, yet he never actually transforms into Aneglus.
There are a lot of mini-archs in this season. I love how they do this, instead of having one main story. Make no mistake, the entire season is very much connected, but the focus changes a few times.
At the end of Season 1, Wolfram and Hart resurrected Darla, Angel's sire and old partner in crime, and this is what leads to him giving into his darkside. I loved how in the second episode, in which Angel Investigations moves into the Hyperion Hotel, they foreshadow this transformation by flashing back to a time in the 50s when Angel allowed a demon to kill a large group of people. A modern day scene in a later episode mirrors this.
There's also a great 4-episode story at the end in which the team travels to Pylea, Lorne's home universe, and meet Fred. She's become one of my favourite characters now.
Angel gets really good this season and becomes the show it always wanted to be.It's Not Buffy... - Myrrh
...no matter how much fans might wish that was the case!
Nevertheless, the Angel series is not without its good points. Season Two, certainly, is much more engaging than Season One, which really gave the viewer the impression that it had not yet decided what it wanted to be.
For Buffy fans it is hard to judge Angel on its own merits as a great deal of the pleasure to be had from the latter is derived from this chance to see familiar characters again. That said, Angel Season Two does stand on its own, introducing interesting new characters and developing an engaging narrative arc across the season.
