"I wish there was more pschological shows this poignent and brillant!"
When i first heard about the BBC/HBO series i wasn't to keen on the name 'Cracker'. After all the name can come across wrong like Quaker. Considering Fitz (Coltrane) never failed to crack each Case he was assigned to 'cracker' was most suitable. Aside from Fitz's crass persona and creature by habit flaws he was incredibly chraming and highly intuitive. The shows success was measure by the Writers ability to come up with something we've all heard and seen before, and change the outcome to a fresh and unlikely ending.cracking good fun - jawbone
Robbie Coltrane continues to bewitch and beguile in the second session of this fine and generally unknown (to North American audiences) series. He treads a fine line between disgusting alcoholic, gambling and nicotine addicted fatman and witty, intelligent unpredictable sleuth. Somehow he manages to make a character that would normally be repulsive into an almost irresistable charmer. The plots are intricate and are better than what we have come to accept in big screen film release.
