IMAX: Coral Reef Adventure
Joy. Ecstasy. A spiritual high. These words describe the exhilaration of diving a pristine coral reef in Coral Reef Adventure. Ocean explorers Howard and Michele Hall turn their love for the ocean and their concern for the future of te world's coral reefs into action. With Jean-MIchel Cousteau, deep reef scientist Richard Pyle and Fijian diver Rusi Vulakoro, the Halls explore and capture on film the dazzling underwater world of coral reefs, magical places here on Earth.
The lilting music of the South Pacific, in a tropical blend with Crosby, Stills & Nash, will surprise and delight you. Expect to laugh - expect to fall in love with the reefs - and expect your heart to ache at the tragic, irretrievable loss of these fragile worlds. Very few movies change our world view. This is one of those few.
Coral Reef Adventure is far more than a movie. It's an unforgettable experience.

My 8 year old son is a fish freak. He lives, breathes , dreams fish. Both salt water and fresh water fish. It is his goal to be a marine biologist. He really liked this film and the information it offered him. A must see!It has vivid images of an amazing underwater world.7 Thumbs up! - JimmyFace
Yes, this IMAX film gets my highest review yet. I'm referring to the WMVHD version. Simply amazing. It it is pure IMAX perfection. The story line is good, basically they're trying to find out what's killing the coral, but the visuals take it up a notch in awesome.
You need a kick bum computer to run the WMVHD, but it's worth it given the quality. The only thing that sucks is that it only grants you a license for watching it for like 7 days or something and the only way to renew it is from the DVD itself.
Also, you can only get 5.1 sound if you have 5.1 computer speakers. I was passing the sound through the SPDIF optical port on my computer to my Yamaha receiver but because the audio is not DD AC3 it's some WMA custom 5.1 track you only get stereo sound through your receiver. Supposedly you can use a freeware program called AC3Filter to decode the WMA on the computer and pass it to the receiver as DD AC3 but I wasn't able to get it to work properly. From what I've read not many can without using some FFDShow filter and ZoomPlayer.
Anyway, if you're going to watch one IMAX film this year, then watch this one you won't be let done.Very neat - Mike2
This presentation is filled with vibrant colours and inhabitants of marine life. It certainly changes one's perspective about the negative effects of the environment on nature. You will never under value what the seas provide for us after seeing this documentary. You will also discover the beauty of the south pacific as researchers explore different coral reefs.
