Hosted by Richard Kiley and Jean Simmons

Volume 1:
Abraham: One Man, One God
The story of Abraham's unwavering faith has made him one of the Bible's most revered figures. His covenant with God led to the birth of Israel, and - in the ultimate test of devotion - he was asked to sacrifice his son. But is there evidence to prove that such a man existed?
Joseph: Master of Dreams
Sold into slavery by his brothers because of his gift of prophesy, Joseph is finally rewarded with great political power when he uses his divine gift to save Egypt from famine.
Volume 2:
King David: Poet Warrior
Extraordinary new discoveries indicated that King David - poet, warrior, and slayer of the giant named Goliath - was not just a mythical figure!
Jesus: Holy Child
He is perhaps the most well known figure in human history, yet many details of His life have remained an enigma for centuries. This program carefully examines these mysteries, providing an inspiring portrait of the life and times of Jesus Christ.

I have only watched disk 1 of the series (disk 2 hasn't arrived yet).
The first part, the one about Abraham, was a bit better in my opinion: I particularly liked the fact that they question commonly held beliefs, for example that Abraham was the very first monotheist. It is very refreshing to see that someone out there is not afraid to question commonly-held beliefs. My personal opinion of the subject matter is somewhat different than the one expressed within the movie and I won't intrude it on people, but I do find the movie quite interesting.
The second part was about Joseph and in my opinion the documentary was not quite in-depth as I grew to expect from the first part. It was more like a commentary and in my opinion missed a very interesting point within this story, but that's just my humble opinion. I did find it interesting, though.
