SOAP SEASON 1 - Katt
This is one of the funniest sitcoms ever. I loved it when it was first out, and I love it all over again all these years later.
The actors are all excellent comedians. I especially love Robert Mulligan who played Bert. His timing, facial expressions and physical humour are so good, and so very funny.
It's wonderful to see a sitcom that was made before the age of Political Correctness. This show makes fun of everyone equally, from Billy Crystal as the first gay character to "come out" on TV, to the impotent husband, the senile grandpa, the black butler, the Italian mobsters, the priest, the promiscuous daughter - everyone!
And what could be funnier than Chuck and Bob???
And it was made in front of a live audience, so that is real laughter we hear. Some comedies make me smile but this one had me laughing out loud. The best even now!! - weez1959
I watched this show back in the seventies when it first came out and I was a little worried that if I rented it now I would be dissapointed but I was totally wrong! This is still as funny as it was back then and even better because I don't have to wait a week to see what happens next with these two wacky families.Soap - Colour_Vision
Soap is the best sit-com that has ever been produced. My belly is still sore from laughing. With all the censoring that is going on in the United States, nobody dares to produce shows like Soap anymore. No swearing, coursing or violence. Just what some zealots might consider "dirty" or "unnatural", like homosexuality and some suggestive sex scenes.
