Oklahoma!
The excitement of the award-winning Royal National Theatre staging of Oklahoma! that wowed London audiences can now be experienced again on DVD!
This vibrant new production is marvelously brought to life by a stellar cast that features the charming Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Swordfish) as Curly, vivacious Josefina Gabrielle as Laurey, menacing Shuler Hensley in his Tony Award-winning role as Jud and British favorite Maureen Lipman (The Pianist, Educating Rita) as Aunt Eller. Declared by London theater critics as the all-time best version of Oklahoma! ever brought to the stage, the musical was directed by Broadway great Trevor Nunn (Les Miserables, Sunset Boulevard) and choreographed by the gifted Susan Troman (director and choreographer of The Producers).

Oh what a beautiful show! - Ronni
Thanks to the other reviewer I got this dvd. What a treat. The singing, the dancing and the story are topnotch. All the songs here are fabulous.
I thought the play is seen from the front and centre of the orchestra seating but instead it's filmed from all angles like a regular movie. This means you'll see the characters' expressions up close. While there's the main story there's also a few subplots running throughout with lots of humour.Unexpected Pleasure - bwod
Wow! This version of Oklahoma is amazing! Hugh Jackman blew me away as "Curly". Man, can he sing! The film is actually a filmed version of a London stage production that was done back in 1999. Jackman went on to film fame in X-Men, as Wolverine. The musical, was made for t.v., but the production values are top notch. You'll feel like you're sitting in the best seats in the house, close up to the stage. The acting, singing, dancing, and trick lasso work will blow you away, as much as it did me. Simply superlative!
