The best TV SF series at its peak - kchishol1970
On season 3, B5 fully flourished from simply a viable alternative to Star Trek into the finest example of science fiction could be on TV.
Whether it is the quieter episodes, or the blistering drama of episodes such as the series' halfway point, "Severed Dreams," this is ST TV that cannot be missed.B5 is Simply the Best - bUgs1
I've been a big Star Trek fan all my life, and still am. But Babylon 5 just wipes the floor with Star Trek in every imaginable phase. What makes Babylon 5 so inticing is that it simply tells a story. A simply, but very compelling story about the age-old struggle between good and evil. It doesn't waste episodes trying to make political statements...or rather politically correct statements like Trek does. Nor does it waste valuable time with all of the meaningles techno-babble that permeates Star Trek. B5's sole purpose is to entertain, and it does that brilliantly. Trust me. Once you start to watch, you will not want to stop. I didn't begin watching B5 until about halfway through the 3rd season. After that I couldn't get enough of it.War - kav2001c
Peace has failed, the intergalactic war has begun
An ancient enemy (the Shadows) have finally revealed themselves, one of the great nations (the Centauri) have sold their souls, and another of the five superpowers (the Narns) have fallen in defeat. Thier nations crushed, thier remaining civilians enslaved.
It appears Earth alone can not survive, and this war is going to get worse before it gets better
