Cliche Ending To a Great Show - Teeveebuff
Sex and the City did something no other show did in that it presented a realistic portrayal of how four single women in Manhatten might think, live and love in a modern cosmopolitan city such as New York. It was done with style, modern feminism and heart. The show began as a display of pushing boundaries in the first season but developed into a show about the development of four women and their growth as people. This is a show that when it ended, many people truly felt they were loosing their best friends. Though I love the series, my only disappointment was the final episode. For a show that seemed to try so hard to avoid predictable and cliche situations, I was surprised that producer Michael Patrick Kind choose such a cliche Cinderalla ending that makes Carrie suddenly helpless whereby Big must swoop in at the precise moment to save the day like a night in shining armour. Stuff like that should be saved for Disney animation but not Sex and the City. They could have come up with a much realistic and plausible way for Carrie and Big to reunite in my opinion. Oh well...overall a great show minus episode 94.The beginning of the end... - Cricri7
Sex and the city left the air on top. They could have gone on a couple of seasons more but the creators decided to leave while on top. It is a good decision for them but a bad decision for us. For me, it is one of the best series that ever was on television. The writing was intelligent, the actors were excellent and the setting, New York, could not have been better. I watch this series over and over again and never tire of it.Fantastic programming! - Vickie
The first part of season 6 is a great set-up for the finale. It sets things in motion for the women to round things out in their series. It shows growth in their relationships and it shows growth in their characters. Yet it does so in a funny and quirky way. It continues to push the boundaries of what is considered "acceptable" television, yet does so in a charming manner. This dvd collection is a must see for any Sex in the City fan.
