The Office: Season 1 (U.K. Series)
The brilliant new comedy on BBC America
Welcome to Wernham Hogg, a paper company stuck in dreary old Slough, where life is stationery. Critics and fans alike have lauded this hilarious, biting look inside the cubicle walls as a cult classic in the vein of This is Spinal Tap and The Larry Sanders Show.
Meet David Brent, the worst boss you'll never have. The wince-worthy regional manager thinks he's the funniest bloke around, and territorial yes-man, Gareth Keenan would undoubtedly agree. Self-proclaimed team leader Gareth is constantly bickering with witty nemesis Tim, an apathetic sales rep who wears his boredom on his sleeve. Tim is trapped in their ridiculous little world - but the center of his universe is lovely Dawn, the betrothed receptionist of his affection and the reason he returns each morning.
Hell is other people... in The Office.

Having loooooved Steve Carrel and the USA version of the office I thought I would expand my horizons and see what the original version had to offer. British humour is not for everyone but as it turns out it is definitly something for me. I thought it was MORE enjoyable than the American version and it was great fun to see all the characters UK counterpartsClassic - eli_quincy
The first season of "The Office," in which a buffoon of an office manager wreaks havoc over the otherwise indifferent employees of a paper mill in small-town England, perfectly nails the drugery of the office. It's so accurate that some find it almost unbearable to watch, particularly given the awkwardness spilling from almost every single thing that Ricky Gervais's David Brent does. This show is among the most influential TV series of the past decade in my opinion, and no one should miss it.Awkward - rnhaas
This is perhaps the pinacle of the whole British awkward humour thing. Really hilarious and also really uncomfortable at times. I find the whole thing a little more believable than the American counterpart as well, and I like that there's a little bit more of an arc, with the way shorter season.
