Prime Suspect 3
Detective Chief Inspector Tennison (Helen Mirren) is back on the case in the Emmy-winning Prime Suspect 3.
Transferred to the Vice Squad, Tennison finds herself enmeshed in an already lost cause known as Operation Contract and up against her old adversary Sgt. Bill Otley. "Contract" had been an attempt by her predecessor to break down a pedophile ring operating in the London area. The investigation fell apart when a leak ensured that the rent boys, underage prostitutes and their customers were off the streets.
But the discovery of a young boy's body in the burnt out apartment of a transsexual, Vera Reynolds, transforms a complicated vice case into a clear case of Tennison's specialty: murder. The murder allows Tennison to force open previously closed doors, leading her into the deep, dark recesses of the world of child prostitution; a world crawling with pornographers and seedy model agents, seething with the corruption of smooth-talking businessmen and high-ranking officials with something to hide.
Jimmy Jackson (David Thewlis) is Tennison's lead suspect, a vicious thug who preys on the young runaways he picks up in railway stations. But Jackson has an alibi - an alibi that relies on the head of a charity for wayward boys, Edward Parker-Jones has some very influential friends in the police force. And they're influential enough to make Tennison's career... or break it.

Brilliant Part III !! - E
Helen Mirren rocks, and the beauty of seeing PS1 and PS2 prior to this DVD is seeing her character's development from where she began to where she is now. Poor Tennison again sabatoges a personal relationship, and now she has a murder case which clearly exacerbates her outsider status on the police force. However, this time, Tennison has learned to play the game better, and she takes a big gamble which could destroy her career. Excellent acting, great storyline, and a nice connection to the previous two DVDs with continuing characters and sub-storylines.
