A beautiful introduction to Africa - TVJacks
In western media representations of Africa depict it as a land of poverty and disease, with simple-minded, backward inhabitants desperate for the rescue and salvation of the white world. This series gives a more accurate depiction of Africa as a complex land of many countries and many resources, rich with physical beauty and sociological complexity. Being National Geographic you know it's going to be visually stunning, but what is even more impressive is the in-depth but accessible journey through some of the significant cultural activities of the different peoples of the continent.
Having spent some months in Tanzania, this series made me "homesick", but I think even those who have never been will take a lot away from the chance to spend some time on the inside of the so-called "dark continent".The Real Africa - Kofi
It is difficult to find fair introduction to African culture. This is not only correct, but also very educative and entertaining. Wonderful music and landscape - in the same time it shows the challenges and local traditions. If you want to understand African values and how the Western world influence them, this is the movie to watch. Enjoy!
