This is a concert which took place in California 20 years after the original Woodstock. I guess I was curious to see what the bands would be like 20 years later.
There really is nothing wrong with many of the bands. Some of them (like Blood, Sweat and Tears) are very good. One thing is for sure --- the audio is good, but the video is awful, and sometimes amateurish. There are video effects which have been added which are totally inappropriate and unnecessary. They look like the kind of video tricks which come programmed into your hand-held camera. I suspect the effects were editted this way in 1989 (as opposed to the 2004 (mastering) date on the DVD).
Timothy Leary is has all kinds of lead in ... then they actually put his "voice over" ramblings on the DVD during the instrumental part of songs. If this DVD was worth two stars, it just fell to one star after this.
There is no reason to recommend this set. If you like the bands from Woodstock ... you are better to rent the original Woodstock.
Save your credits for better "ZIPS" than this! You have been warned.

What a sad, sad, sad mess this is! I barely was able to watch and get through Disc 1. Ageing, washed up rock bands (circa 1989) playing to a small group of teens pretending to be 60s-era hippies. The camera and sound work is shoddy, the editing is brutal, psychadelic visual effects are often applied to the video, likely done to cover up the poor production. Even the musical performances are constantly being interupted by the often incoherent ramblings of a near-dead Timothy Leary. Ghastly. The Summer of Love was NOTHING like this. Avoid at all costs.20 Years After: A Woodstock Reunion Concert - Garak
Disk 3 on this one is ROCKIN, if you never seen Canned Heat or seen a true blues boogie band then see this one and CRANK it up, they show even 2o years later they can still kick the jams out. On another note the the ramblings of ol acid head Tim Leary are a hoot ;)
