Keen Eddie: The Complete Series
American Detective Eddie Arlette: London Address...New York State of Mind
Brash, opinionated and streetwise, transplanted New York narcotics detective Eddie Arlette (Mark Valley) is not exactly a perfect fit with the refined gents of England's Scotland Yard. Nonetheless, Eddie is determined to redeem himself after the botched drug bust that sent him across the Atlantic, so it's goodbye Big Apple, hello Big Ben. And when his buttoned-up London colleagues find something remotely admirable about the down-on-his-luck detective's unorthodox law enforcement techniques, Eddie's offered a permanent job on the force. From Regent's Park to Trafalgar Square, Keen Eddie is on the prowl. Lord help the British Empire... and God save the Queen!
All 13 episodes of this engagingly wry and fast-paced detective series are yours to enjoy in this four-disc DVD collection.

Some shows that have been cancelled are so brilliant that the TV heads didn't know what to do with them (Ex. Firefly). And some shows were just slightly ahead of their time, made to be surpassed in a few years.
This is one of them.
As they still tried to figure out the show, the plug was pulled. As a result, this offering seems just like everything else on...about two years ago. Kind of like a "creative, sassy show"...before it's time and now, it's a bit after it's time.Keen Eddie should have lasted. - Cush
Timing is everything. When Keen Eddie was coming out on television. It was up against many others trying to stay on the air. It was picked up by FOX and was dropped for reasons which I could not understand. Under better circumstances the show should have grown into a multiple season show.
Everything is there. Story lines that shatter from the start and our brought back together like iron filings to a magnet. It is funny, thoughtful and the characters intermingle in a way spectators stay focused on. Not too quirky and set in England. Think James Bond's American brother that chose police work instead of secret agent. Beautiful women, and well dressed men.
If you have an evening to watch the only season out in the market, please check it out.Keen, Eddie, Keen! - XTRUClerk
Keen Eddie started out rough and I thought I had made a big mistake getting this set. There are so many cuts, so much noise, so many camera movements in the first episode that I felt dizzy. Fortunately, the style settles down as the series progresses and what emgeges is a fresh police show with tons of style and subtle humor. The cast, all virtually unknown at the time, were especially brilliant, from Eddie's bitchie roommate to the secretary who is always saying something suggestive (or is she, only Eddie ever seems to hear her). Also a delight to see veteran British funnyman Alexis Sayle, whom you might know from his appearances on The Young Ones (the series, not the film with Cliff Richard!), and the fellow who played Tinker in Lovejoy (can't remember his name, only in one episode of this series). This is one of those series that got coancelled after just a few episodes but somehow found its way on DVD. Good thing too, because it's a really fun and original show. Have a look. cheers.
