Millennium: Season 2
From the creator of The X-Files, Chris Carter, the second season of Millennium was executive-produced by Glen Morgan and James Wong, who also worked on The X-Files and Space: Above & Beyond and continues the story of former FBI serial profiler Frank Black (Lance Henriksen) and his consultancy work for the shadowy Millennium Group.
When Frank's wife is kidnapped, he realises that there are certain secrets that the group has kept from him. Already suspicious of the group's real motives, a dangerous division within the group itself finally convinces Frank to quit. Determined to alert his friends and co-workers to the growing danger, Frank is horrified to discover that it may be too late to save anyone.

Future generations will never understand this season in the way people saw it in the late 90s. The X-files was a cult and perfectly capitalized on the end of the century and this spin of (or whatever you want to call it) of the X-Files also fit it's time perfectly. The series wasn't perfect but it was a captivating try. I look forward to going back through the whole series eventually because there are some wonderful gems in there...Best of the Seasons - filmgeek
Chris Carter followed up his success with the X-Files with this curious gem of a series. Lance Henrickson is the driving force throughout the series. Even though I liked the show as a whole, it never really seemed to find it's own footing. This uneven storytelling was not helped by the apparant desire of the writing team to re-invent what type of show they were doing from season to season. Those weak points aside, this is a very entertaing series which I believe was cancelled before its time.

Because Darin Morgan wrote episodes on both of them. Morgan wrote some of the most entertaining episodes of the X-Files. He actually seems looser here, writing about a self-help cult that resembles Scientology and a group of devils who prey upon humans in a riff on The Screwtape Letters. Well worth renting, at least for those two episodes. As for the rest, well, I could never watch this show when it was being serious.
