The original space man! The ultimate trip! Buck Rogers swings back to earth and lays it on the 25th Century!
In 1987, Capt. William "Buck" Rogers, on a space mission to launch a probe, is accidently put into suspended animation in an orbit that only returns his shuttle to our solar system 500 years later. His dormant ship is captured by an alien force called the Draconians, led by Princess Ardala. Reviving him, they trick him into returning to Earth after secretly planting a tracer on his shuttle to learn the path through Earth's defence barrier. The Terran Space Force intercepts him and guide him in. Now, Buck Rogers must adjust to this new time, address the suspicions of the Terrans who are convinced he is a spy and protect Earth from the threat that the Draconians secretly pose.

Buck is a great guy, and all around fighter pilot, fist fighter, lover, kisser, soldier and diplomat. He flies, fights, kisses and talks his way through many amazing and fun stories. Highly recommended for lovers of 80's type science fiction.
Also, Twikki is a neat machine. I would make love to him/it if I could.1 of the best sci fi TV shows of its time. - Pyr-
Ah Buck Rogers. Considering the 1980's TV sci fi boom, this particular series was quite good... in moderation. Unfortunately when I got Disk 1 from zip, of course you don't get the case, so one wouldn't notice right away that: Disk 1 at least, has 2 sides. Watching Rogers and his futuristic escapades now, is very cool. Remembering how my friends and I used to gather in the basement of my parents house to watch. But now I just find it funny. Aside from the fact that once you get past all the glitz and glam of the costumes, much of the "25th century" technology is now available at the future shop, the acting=blah, the fx=blah, but the writing is still suprisingly decent(although stupidly sexist). When I finished Disk 1, I thought overall it was enjoyable. Then to my surprise I noticed Disk 1-side 2, and all of the sudden...oh no, how much more is there. I still give it good marks due to it being a childhood favorite, but I think I might just be putting the rest of the series on "park" for awhile. One more thing, unless you're a billionaire, ultra mega pheremone wearing dude with charm, looks, and fashion sense coming out your wazzoo, you are not going to get even 1/73rd of the women that this guy does. Unbelievable! Maybe it's his name. Next time I'm out, I'll have to try introducing myself as Buck. I'll get back to y'all on this one.Good show that's better in my memory than in the present - XTRUClerk
I revisisted two of my great childhood memories on DVD these last couple of years. One was Battlestar Galactica, the other was this show, Buck Rogers. It's funny, when I was a kid this one was my favorite of the two. I thought Buck was awesome, I loved Twiggy, and what to say about Wilma Dearing and those skin tight outfits of hers. Funny thing is that upon revisiting I had some trouble with Buck. There are a few good episodes here, the first few are even outstanding, but it spoils itself half way through the first season. Episodes like Space Vampire are so silly, and the quality of the sets and costumes suddenly drop for some reason. I actually had no problem sitting through the whole first season of Galactica, which surprised me. I thoroughly enjoyed it and not just for nostalgia. With Buck, my childhood favorite, I stalled midway through disk four and I still haven't watched the rest. Some things are just better when you're a kid I guess. This is a nice set though and still worth getting, just maybe not as good as you remember. Cheers.
