Irritating - Picker_of_Movies
These are not crank calls. What they are is people using obviously fake voices to irritate customer service people. I don't work in customer service so I'm not trying to stand up for my industry but I have stood in line behind little old ladies at the supermarket who insist on counting out the exact change for their purchase well after the clerk has rung up the final total. Doing that day in and day out can try a person's patience. I feel for the people who have to do that in order to pay the rent.
Customer service people are obligated to be polite to even the rudest, stupidest and irritating customers even if it turns out those customers are not customers but paid performers who are trying to test the patience of the minimum wage employees.
I'd be more impressed if the creative people behind this show went after the rich white business owners of fortune 500 companies. Picking on people who desperately have to hold onto their jobs may be entertaining to a few overpaid, self-absorbed Hollywood types and some childish fans but I was left cold and completely unimpressed by the total lack of imagination in these phone calls. I quit watching after "Special Ed" kept repeating "I'm going to got to Hawaii" to a travel agent. I got nothing against retard humor but it has to be funny. Or at least funnier than a wet willy.
The puppets were great.SUPERB ! - StEpHuLAr
Along the lines of The Jerky Boys of the early 90's, Crank Yankers is a bunch of crank calls done by a some of the funniest comedians today, like Wanda Sykes, Stephen Colbert, David Allan Grier, Tracy Morgan, Adam Carolla, Jimmy Kimmel & Sarah Silverman. The premise works really well with the help of puppets, who offer a fun visual to what's going on. Sure, I'll admit, it's childish, but if you take it at face value, it's fun entertainment and offers some decent laughs.
OVERALL RATING: 8/10Crude humor for those that love it - Trixnbun
Surprisingly something that is so crude can actually offer some humor, beware to those that are easily offended, as these are real crank call that actually took place.
If you like things that are along the lines of South Park, Trailer Park Boys and that lot (like my other half does) you'll thourghly enjoy the pointlessness of it.
