The 4400: Season 1
When 4400 alien abductees return to earth just as mysteriously as they vanished, the Department of Homeland Security demands answers. But even more pressing than the concerns of the government are the experiences of the 4400 victims as they readjust to life on earth. Upon their return, these formerly missing persons lose all memory of what happened to them. Though they can't remember where they've been, they are haunted by the knowledge that their experiences have changed them. Operating in a cloud of unknowns, the victims start to go through mysterious changes, gaining powers that they can't always control.

It's a B-league Fringe - TWSS
After catching up on Fringe I was looking for another sci-fi style series. This one had good reviews so I gave it a shot. It's ok but pretty disspointing. First seasons are always tough as they're setting up the background but this series seems to take an extremely long time to pick up any speed.Review of Entire Series - Cottser
Note: My star rating is for the entire series. I'd give Season 1 three stars.
I won't rehash the synopsis or the other reviews, look to those if you want to get an idea of the story.
I wanted to like this series. Season 1 caught my interest, but I still had my reservations over the acting and writing. I watched the whole thing from start to finish, constantly hoping it would get better. I found just the opposite. I should have stopped part-way through Season 2.
The 4400 abilities quickly become all-too-convenient plot points and as one reviewer alluded to, the series basically turns into a soap opera. The bulk of the episodes are based on one 4400 ability, and the overall story arc seems like an afterthought. Not much happens over 4 seasons.
I really like the concept of the show. It's just too bad that any high points in the series are overshadowed by a looming mediocrity. I'm not surprised this series got cancelled, the acting is poor and the writing is worse. Just when you think an episode is going to be palatable, they throw in a "tender moment" in a hackneyed attempt at character development. Nearly every attempt at portraying emotion in this series falls flat on its face.
By the time Season 4 rolls around, things have changed somewhat. One of the main characters, Maia, has turned into a snotty, iPod-toting teenaged brat. People's bodies are being taken over. In the end, all we get is a montage set to The Pixies' "Where Is My Mind?", and that's when I wanted to throw something at the screen. It's a great song, and I'm definitely a fan of the band. "Where Is My Mind?" was used to chilling effect in the climax of the film "Fight Club", but it simply does not work here. It's an attempt to be edgy, but this show is anything but. By the time we get to the end, it's clear that although the plot has progressed somewhat, we're still watching a glorified soap opera.
Give it some serious thought before you invest your time.Awsome! - josh2
I can not believe how good this show is. I was not sure what to expect when I first got this but I am so glad to have given it a chance. This is by far one of the best written shows I have ever seen. The story line is just ingredible and the acting award worthy. I really hope that this show makes it to the Space channel so that many more people can enjoy it. The first season is amazing but the second one which Zip does not have yet is also ingredible. For a while this show was cancelled but I'm glad that its now coming back for a third season. You really can't go wrong with this show, I highly recommend it.
