A horrific plane crash leaves 48 passengers alive, and stranded on a remote island in the South Pacific. The survivors include doctor Jack, now freed prisoner Kate, one hit wonder rock star Charlie, Iraqi military vet Sayid, and a mysterious man named Locke. These people from all walks of life must band together to survive not only the island, but a gigantic... something that lives in the interior.

Too slow for me... - DaxKP

So after all the hype, I decided to give this series a try, and it was really just too slow for me. I watched the first few episodes, and found them to be very slow, predictable and felt like nothing really happened in them. After the 4th episode, I just couldn't handle it anymore. This series isn't for people who expect a little more action out of show. If you don't mind waiting forever for something to happen, then this may be for you.

I must be one of the 50 or so people in the English speaking world who not only didn't watch Lost at any time during the 6 seasons it was broadcast, I had no idea what it was about. I had some notion it was some kind of reality-show spinoff, but as a non-fan of broadcast television I never brought it up in conversation - not once in 6 years. Anyway. I tried the series out on DVD and suffice it to say I very seldom find such quality of acting, photography, and writing in "serious" films, much less in popular TV drama. In particular, I'm in awe of the work of Michael Emerson ("Benjamin Linus.") Only very rarely do you find such a powerful combination of acting talent and intelligent writing. Both of these elements clearly had fun at work and the result's a pure joy to watch. Yes, Evangeline Lilly's adorable, ya gotta love Jorge Garcia - sure. But there's some serious thought that's gone into this number and, contrary to some of the comments you'll find on the fansites, the creators of this show knew what they were doing (even if they admittedly weren't sure how long they'd be doing it) right from the start. Try it again for the first time, and with the attitude that nothing happens - at least on this island - without a reason.

I watched Season 1 in 2 days. I could not stop. Each episode ended with a cliffhanger that forced me to want to see the next one no matter the time of day, or night for that matter. The concept of each episode revolving around the off island events of the cast memebers was amazingly weaved into the plot and provided excellent depth to the story. Additionally, it was very cryptic how each of the cast memebers was involved in some sort of con scheme, either as perpetrator or victim, and each is seeking some form of redemption on the island. It is kind of spiritual in that sense - A modern day Lord of the Flies.
