Joan Of Arcadia: Season 1
Joan of Arcadia, the Emmy-nominated, People's Choice Award-winning series, stars Amber Tamblyn as Joan Girardi. An average 16-yeard-old, Joan is going through the growing pains typical of any teenager after she and her family relocates to Arcadia. Except for one thing: Joan has been getting visits from God.

Neat how they show the process of trusting in what God tells you to do, and how unexpected results occur. An affirmation of the creative process.
Confirms the process of enjoying the little, ways in which one can be involved in assisting others.
also how one never knows what will come of something... and a larger perspective than mere goal orientation.
The family struggles and has warmth... and there is the usual dealing with high school social stuff that has some cute moments and is an enjoyable reminder of the limitations of the social sphere.Like it - Sheenie
I really liked this series and was sorry to see it only lasted two seasons. Joan is not a perfect, saintly character and God is not just a glowing white man with a beard. God asks Joan to do things that don't make any sense and she responds as any whiney teenager would! Sometimes she does what God asks and sometimes she doesn't. The characters in this series are very real and it makes for interesting and different television watching.Timeless - J.B.
Joan of Arcadia is a smart television series that asks important questions. The show has excellent main actors as well as a superior supporting cast. The storylines are never quite as predictable as you think they might turn out to be. It's a shame that this series has not continued, but at least we can enjoy what was produced. I think it should be required viewing teenagers!!! As an added perk, the music is excellent as well, but I've yet to find the soundtrack in stores.
