Northern Exposure - Pamric
This is our first exposure to this series. Even two decades old, we are really enjoying it. Current sitcoms rely way to much on relationships, sexual innuendo and sexiness. The episodes in this series don't follow one another in a story-line. Each episode is a new topic, and we really appreciate the variety. The focus changes from one character to the next. Chris stimulates a lot of thought with his philosophical dissertations. Maurice's raw approach to life's challenges stimulates honesty. Ed's innocent searching for life experiences is easy to identify with. It is all new, and light and refreshing. Not as good as seasons 1 and 2 but enjoyable - Restaurant_Guy
We've been disappointed in the third season. It is less packed with ideas and humour, more slow-going. Ruth-Ann's character has developed as has Chris' and Maurice but Joel, Marilyn, Shelly, Holling and Marilyn seem stuck.
Wildman/chef/hermit Adam -- a quirky character even by Northern Exposure standards-- is a complete delight. His appearances "make" the season for me.
Still waiting for Joel and Maggie to consummate..
