keep in mind that this review / rating is based on the first disc.
the stories on this disc come across as sentimental and lacking in the
edge of the best of the twilight zone. "the once and future king"
(first segment of episode one) is a nostalgia driven story about an
elvis impersonator who goes back in time and ends up replacing elvis.
there is nothing interesting explored through this - we see the start
and end of his career, and nothing in between. it would have been nice
to see some sort of twist on how history played out, even if the
execution had failed. and finally, the segment is full of groaners
where elvis ends up mouthing lines from songs in response to what's going on.Average - Wentai
A great piece of SF, this series was ground breaking in its time. Horror, suspense, SF, fantasy and character development all rolled into one -- welcome to the Twilight Zone. A great show with some great ideas.
Don't forget to check out the old black and white ones while you are on zip. Good writing even then.Amazing - Unedited_Meat
Some of the best Science Fiction and horror ever created, some of it is pure genious, while some of it nearing the end of watching an episode you think "that really sucked" but by the time it ends, even though it may have been a bit cheesy, the stories, and the plot always make up for it.
