season 2 disc 3 getting into their characters - wizard_5860
I enjoyed this disk and noticed that the characters have gotten into their parts, and I must say that I have been watching the whole seasons and I have yet to see an episode that I haven't enjoyed as of yet.You can see that everyone is getting more familiar I don't know how to explain it but in season two it seems not forced but that they are actually have become friends.I am enjoying this dvd as much as the first one I watched...One of the Finest Series - MacAskill
I watched all the series in the 1960s. It was the time when I was young enough to be free of cynicism, and old enough to appreciate good characters.
Season Two of Andy Griffith avoids the tentative plots and character situations of the first season, which was almost too cute by half. (As was the first season of Dick Van Dyke.) But the second season of this classic show finds its stride and the characters really take root.
A fun and offbeat extra are the TV commercials that accompanied the show, and were performed by the cast members. As often as not, the commercial themes echoed the storyline of the episode it accompanied, which is so evocative of a long-ago past.
I enjoy this series immensely, only second to Dick Van Dyke. And the second season is when things really are worth watching. (Several seasons later, when Don Knotts left the series and it started broadcasting in colour, the personality of the whole thing shifted substantially, and for me lost its charm. But here, it is gold.)
