National Geographic: Guns, Germs, And Steel
Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book and national best seller, "Guns, Germs, and Steel" is an epic detective story that offers a gripping expose on why the world is so unequal. Professor Jared Diamond traveled the globe for over 30 years trying to answer the biggest question of world history. Why is the world so unequal? The answers he found were simple yet extraordinary. Our destiny depends on geography and access to: Guns, Germs, and Steel. Weaving together anthropology and science with epic historical reenactments, Guns, Germs, and Steel brings Diamond's fascinating theories to life, and moves beyond the book to bring his ideas into the present day.

This is based on Jared Diamond's book of the same name, and is fascinating.
The three things -- guns, germs, and steel -- determined a lot about what happened when civilizations developed all over the world, and when one civilization encountered another.
Diamond says that the "haves" of the world got that way by luck of geography -- having the most productive plants and animals, which let them build bigger villages, which let them have specialists who eventually made steel. The "have nots" didn't have those advantages. He also explains why the Europeans brought diseases to the New World -- because they'd gotten them from their domesticated animals.
The 2nd part focuses on what happened in Africa. Diamond's theory explains what happened there too. I was less aware of that part of history, and it's worth knowing about.good dvd - Blashy
Good DVD, if this is your type of viewing pleasure then I suggest you rent this DVD.
It has some good writing as well as some good acting and the cinematography is well done.
I will most likely rent more like this one if it they become available.
