Good, creepy fun - Sheenie
Back in the days when there was no gore or nudity on television, it took a good plot and decent acting to get people's attention. That's what this series delivers. Alfred Hitchcock had a way of spinning an unusual story that kept audience's attention. Half the fun is identifying all the famous actors before they hit it big! Before The Outer limits and Twlight zone made waves - movie_goer
Alfred Hitchcock introduced a new Genre to Tv That was collectively intellegent, and fast pace for 22 minute. The Best way to describe the show: Gripping, fun and great for killing past time. Pun intended. As a HUGE Alfred Hitchcock fan i appreciate the quailty and effort he put into this work. Because the show is obviously dated back to the 50's the era creates a whimsical and quirky attribute toward that you can't find in Tv today.Surprisingly intelligent series from the '50s - Coconut_Willy
I saw some episodes from this series when I was young so I did not think that it was that old. At the time (early '70s), I really enjoyed reading Hitchcock's short story books and his television show was very similar. I am not sure how much he had to do in both cases but it still reflected good taste, humor and intelligent stories. Season One contains a few episodes directed by Hitchcock himself. I thought that most installments were interesting and well made. There is quite an evolution as the season goes on in his short appearances at the beginning and at the end of each shows; they become funnier every week as the writers have Hitchcock perform in different sets with different props. The actors are different every week (although some return regularly) and it's truly a great trip down memory lane to see some people who were either already quite famous at the time or became familiar faces later on. Highly recommended.
