All In The Family: Season 5
The season that won a Golden Globe and was nominated for 4 Emmys!
The fifth season of All in the Family continues its trailblazing formula, tackling controversial issues with shockingly irreverent humor. But this would be a year of change for Archie (Carroll O'Connor) and Edith (Jean Stapleton), with friends moving on up and family moving out. Like the rest of the country, the Bunkers cope with rising inflation (in a multi-episode storyline), causing Edith to join the workforce. Meanwhile, next-door neighbors the Jeffersons leave their modest Queens house for a "deluxe apartment in the sky;" the pilot for the spin-off series The Jeffersons appears here as an episode of All in the Family. By the end of the season, Mike (Rob Reiner) and Gloria (Sally Struthers) decide it's high time to move out of Archie's house to find their own place to live. Nominated for multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe® awards, the fifth season also includes a special episode looking back at the show's highlights, hosted by the legendary Academy Award® winner Henry Fonda (1982 Best Actor in a Leading Role, On Golden Pond; 1981 Honorary Award).

They didn't always get along or "communicate" well, but they were a less-than-perfect family that gave viewers an opportunity to discuss issues that might not have otherwise been raised. It's a true clash of an old and young generation - and the "young generation" is today's old generation! Some funny laughs and classic Archie lines. Not for kids!all in the family - paulbradley
This is a great show and if zip.ca could send me the dvds i would watch it. Zip.ca refuses to send this show because of their stupid priority system. If the first disc isn't available they will send not any discs. As a result they get away with providing absolutely zero service to the customer. If the show is not available they should not advertise it. I suggest to everyone that they harass zip.ca until they change their customer unfriendly policy because no one should pay for a service that is not being provided to them.Simply The Best - Dr_Talk
There's no need to even argue this...All In The Family is THE best sitcom of all time! It was the first show to depict real life characters that everyday people could relate to. Think about it; isn't there someone in your life that's like an Archie Bunker? It was also the first to address and broadcast some very controversial issues of that era. Things such as racism, sex, politics and even rape. There never was, nor will there ever be a sitcom that could come close to the overall chemistry between the actors as in All In The Family. I keep checking out these new sitcoms that pop up by being churned out as quick as possible by the networks to get ratings. My opinion thus far? CRAP!
The talent is out there, and the right producers & writers are out there. PLEASE can we have another All In The Family?
