The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 3
Turn That Dial to WJM-TV for a Third Season of Laughter!
In its third season, this groundbreaking comedy explored topics previously taboo on network television. Deftly woven in with the hilarity of the busy newsroom and repeated outrageous attempts by Mary's friends to set her up with Mr. Right came episodes dealing with divorce, meddling parents, self-esteem, and the inevitable mid-life crisis when one fears that life has somehow passed them by. But their classic comedy pulled off these subjects with humor, style and wit, reminding viewers why they identified with - and loved - the WJM-TV gang so much.
This 3-disc set includes all 24 classic season three episodes!

Third times the charm! - CW--
This sitcom continues to defy generalizations...it just keeps getting better and better the later the seasons get. With her hair shorter, Mary is more relaxed around everyone, which provides even more comedy than her being kind almost to a fault in the first two seasons. In the season opener, "The Goodtime News", she gets her own segment on the news and actually tells a more obnoxious than usual Ted to shut up on air. The shock of these words, especially coming from Mary Richards, provide some of the biggest laughs of the season. The terrific plotlines for the supporting cast continue too, with Rhoda being crowned Miss Hemple and Phyllis learns her brother is gay (in 1973!) but the stellars are Lou's operation where he and Ted unexpectedly become best friends to hilarious results and the true introduction of Georgia Engel in "The Georgette Story", a comic creation of beguiling naivete. The season's true highlight is "Put on a Happy Face" where every conceivable thing that could go wrong to Mary does, and Moore gets her first time to show off not only what a great straight woman she is, but a crackjack fall down funny comedienne. Anyone who doubts her status as greatest sitcom actress need only watch these 24 minutes to understand why.The Mary Tyler Moore Show season 3 - wizard_5860
I have yet to see an episode that has bored me from the first show to the third season I have loved watching this cast grow and change together and it is always a delight to watch Mary in each and every show I am still amazed at how many shows I have yet to see even after watching all the reruns all these years. It is like watching a movie that you are still stuck to the t.v. because you want to see the ending but have yet to see it. I am still looking forward to see the episode tha Rhoda gets married in but I guess I have to wait a while still but I will enjoyeach and every episode till I get there
