Elizabeth I: The Virgin Queen
As seen on Masterpiece Theatre
Beginning during the reign of her half-sister, Queen Mary I, and following her career through to the end of her reign (and her life) in 1603, Elizabeth I: The Virgin Queen tells the intriguing and controversial story of England's Good Queen Bess. Although she was never married, Elizabeth I was linked to several important men over the course of her lifetime, notably Robert Dudley (played by Tom Hardy). Anne-Marie Duff stars in the title role.

The Virgin Queen - babypook
Possibly one of the more historically accurate accounts of Elizabeth's reign, The Virgin Queen is worth the rental just for the score alone. If you are a fan of this time period, I highly recommend it. Despite it's modest budget, it compares well to other films about Queen Elizabeth. The performances may or may not be of equal intensity, but it is well worth the look. The Virgin Queen - flicker1
This mini series was well done by masterpeice theater. The locations and senery as well as the costumes were good. The acting was average to good. As this was a low budget film the ambiance was not really captured. It was more like a play. If you are a history buff and enjoy this time period it is worth watching. The make up was average. when elizabeth gets older it's not nessisarly belivable.
