Huff: Season 1
Dr. Craig Huffstodt is a family man and a successful psychiatrist who gets a wake-up call when one of his patients, a 15 year-old boy, commits suicide during a therapy session. Huff's whole existence - as doctor, husband, father, son, brother and friend - goes through a dramatic reawakening as he begins to question who he is, what he's made of and how he fits in --- anywhere. Having always considered himself the eternal caretaker, whose mission is to save people, Huff suddenly realizes that he can't save everyone. The lines of reality start to blur as he goes from the functionally insane at the office to the daily insanities of life with his family at home. His nurturing nature is tested at nearly every turn and soon his so-called "normal" world and family life start to become as surreal as the world of his patients.

Why only two seasons?? - totacaillou1
I'd always enjoyed Hank Azaria's performances since first seeing him in "The Brirdcage" playing the houseboy "Agadore Spartacus." This series really showcases his and his cast members acting talents. I particularly enjoyed Oliver Platt as his wacky, pleasure seeking lawyer best friend and Blyth Danner as his sef-absorbed, troubled and wise yet principled, distant Mother. Anyway, an absolutely engrosing story. I have to agree with an earlier review: It's as complex and involving as the Sopranos. The show is funny, heartwarming, disturbing, profane, and disfuntional, but most importantly, entertaining. I actually bought the series so I could watch it again and wish fervently that they made copies of season two available, which I was lucky enough to see, and which was harrowing to watch as the whole family fell apart. Very real show. Maybe a little too real. I loved it.Very funny and out of the ordinary - JodieD75
I had been growing tired of the same old shows missing that "wow" factor. This show is something truly different and unique.
Hank Azaria and Oliver Platt are the stars of this show, each good men at heart suffering their own inner demons. Huff's (Azaria) inner conscious seems to take the form of a homeless man, whom appears at times of stress with offbeat words of wisdom. The extended cast, which includes Paget Brewster as Huff's slightly neurotic wife, and Blythe Danner as his quirky live-in mother, often steal the show.
This is a great series for tv watchers who miss the days of being surprised by what they see on the small screen.AMAZING series - Jen
Huff is up there with The Sopranos in terms of realness, entertainment and amazing casting. I don't think it has been advertised well enough because if more people knew about it, they would definitely be addicted like me! Oliver Platt is one of my favorite actors now after seeing his hilarious 'typical egotistical lawyer' part in the series. And Hank Azaria does an absolute wonderful job with his role. Blythe Danner is so believable, she's the mother you love to hate! I can't get enough of this series, once you watch it- you wont either! Zip it for sure!!!!
