Great show - why did they cancel it? - nat71
I've only watched the first 5 episodes so far and can't wait to see the rest! I remember trying to watch this show when it aired, except they kept changing the night and time and I couldn't keep up with all the changes. I hate it when the networks do that to good shows. It never gives the audience a chance to get into it.
I think the stories are captivating and I love how she's being portrayed as an Independent. Lots of wheeling and dealing and characters that you can love and hate. Geena Davis is great - it's no wonder she was nominated for an Emmy for the role.
Great series for those political junkies out there.A Good Try... A Good View - Ameoba
This is a half decent attempt. Gena Davis and Donald Sutherland are smartly casted. Gena does a fairly good job in her role of leader of the free world. Donald Sutherland is simply outstanding as the Speaker of the House. Unfortunately, besides these two smartly casted actors, the series is made up of relatively unknowns. Some of the other actors lack the screen presence and can not carry their roles. Compared with the West Wing, Commander lacks the depth of casting. That said, it is still a good view.Commander in Chief Commands Attention! - naoj3873
Maybe not as "edgy" as West Wing, but a thorougly engaging series. Gena Davies as Mac, is believable. She shows strength, pride and retains compassion in a politically-hard world. Her "daughter" is very talented, and shows the destructiveness that celebrity can have on private lives. The conniving of the Speaker of the House against his tenderness towards the infirmities of his wife make for an interesting juxtaposition. I sat through the whole two CD set, and can't wait for Season Two! Well worth watching!
