Numb3rs: Season 1 (Numbers)
FBI Special Agent Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) recruits his mathematical genius brother Charlie (David Krumholtz) to help the Bureau solve a wide range of challenging crimes in Los Angeles. The two brothers take on the most confounding criminal cases from a very distinctive perspective. Assisting Don at the FBI is his partner, Terry Lake (Sabrina Lloyd), and new recruit David Sinclair (Alimi Ballard).
Dr. Larry Fleinhardt (Peter MacNicol) is Charlie’s friend and colleague who urges Charlie to focus more on his university studies than on FBI business. Don and Charlie’s father, Alan Eppes (Judd Hirsch), is pleased to see his two sons working together, but fears their competitive nature will lead to trouble.

Cool Math, Boring show - McGabe
I had been waiting a long time to watch this show. I was pretty disappointed in the writing. The characters have little depth and don't seem to gel very well. I wish they would go further into the relationship between to the 2 brothers, maybe some childhood flashbacks.
The math is really cool even though I don't understand most of it. The effects for when they explain how the math works against the crimes are very cool and worth watching just for those moments.
To be honest, the first couple episodes were much stronger than the rest of the season.
I think if you like math, or puzzle's you'd probably appreciate this show. If you're more into the story, look somewhere else. The Scooby Syndrome - Zelda0415
The stories are intriguing and the show holds my interest. The math is cool (though how would I know, really?) and everything that comes out of Peter MacNicol's mouth is gold. But the FBI are remarkably stupid and all their lines seem to serve the sole purpose of helping the audience through the story. They commonly say things like, "So if we go to his house, we might find him." And the endings are too formulaic for my taste - they always get a confession - and I keep expecting the bad guy to exclaim, "And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for that pesky mathemetician!" I think the Scott brothers came up with a great concept but they need slightly better writers.NUMB3RS is awesome. - Di_Ubaldo
Numbers is a truly amazing show. You may not learn a whole lot from it but it makes you feel like you do. They take complex problems and create a way for regular people (with average IQs) to understand them. The characters are VERY well done, each with their own quirks and traits. The story lines are unique and go quite in depth. This is a great show to watch if you enjoy math.
