NYPD Blue: Season 4
Before it even appeared on the airwaves, NYPD BLUE was the most controversial show on television in 1993. The show broke new ground and, like its characters Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) and Detective John Kelly (David Caruso), it didn't play by the rules. Weaving nudity and foul language into storylines that tackled issues such as vigilante violence, homosexuality, and prostitution, the cop series became a huge hit with an audience who craved reality. In the fourth season, Det. Adrianne Lesniak (Justine Miceli) is replaced by Det. Jill Kirkendall (Andrea Thompson), and James Martinez (Nicholas Turturro) meets his future wife, Gina Colon (Lourdes Benedicto).

The best season yet! - Cricri7
I am now on the fourth season of NYPD blue and I think it is the best one yet. They seem to have gotten things right. It is not the best cop show ever made, but it is a strong one. Most of the actors are excellent, there are a couple of ones where you wonder why they were hired (like Andrea Thompson), but they don't have the better storylines around on TV. The stories are a little bit too predictable. You just know the ending when it has hardly begun.
All that said, it is worth zipping if you did not get around to seeing it the first time. I am glad I rented it because I had not followed it on television years ago. I discovered great actors.Top Notch - Cineman
This is truly one of the best dramas that was ever on TV. Sadly it had to end. But I enjoy rewatching every episode. The chemistry between all of the main caracters is phenomenal. Franz & Smits are in fine form. Ground breaking series.
A must must see.
