It's neat when you find a show that doesn't dumb things down for the viewer, allowing a story to move on it's own without forcing anything into a network TV template.
Monk is such a show.
Simple, reliable, and straightforward, the acting is good and the stories are original. It's not Shakespeare, but, then again, would Shakespeare ever be allowed on mainstream television? For something out of this medium, it's effectively entertaining.
