10 Days that Unexpectedly Changed America
The History Channel Presents
Offering a fresh perspective on the American experience, 10 acclaimed documentary filmmakers direct ten pivotal moments in United States history and the often unexpected changes they triggered.
These critical but unsung pieces of history include a local rebellion that inspired a national constitution, bullets fired in Buffalo, New York, and even a crooner from Memphis who couldn't stand still. These are just a few of the fascinating subjects explored in 10 Days that Unexpectedly Changed America—10 riveting one-hour documentaries by 10 award-winning independent filmmakers. Together, the documentaries represent compelling stories about less well known events that serve as a lens with which to view the range of the American experience.
From the first massacre of Native Americans to the single bloodiest day in American history, from a courtroom battle of science vs. religion that still rages today to the racial murders that led to the Voting Rights Act, these are the events that tested America's soul and forged her destiny.

Great Overview of American History - Atomic
Even if you are not a history buff, this was a great series. I am reasonably well verersed in American History and was pleasantly surprised with this series. The series brought a balanced apporach to the major issues/events they portrayed. It was also interesting to see how some of these events still permeate the American pshyce today. This is a great series for anyone that enjoys history or would like a bit of insight into today's American culture.History lesson charting specific events - AvidOscarBee
After watching the entire series, for those out there that are history buffs of American history, you are in for a treat. All 3 DVDs are broken up into 10 events that changed the course of America. Although the information shared was interesting or fascinating to learn. There were times that this was boring for me. It could be due to my disdain for history when I was in high school, but depending on how the information is relayed, it can make a big difference in receiving the information or rejecting it.
Some things I didn't know about and other things I just heard more of the same, or with further details that were not learned in school. A period piece that is well documented and delivered.
I found Part 2 to be the most interesting of all of them, but again, if you love history, you will not be disappointed.very interesting - muveewasher
I found the information very interesting and covered events that I didn't even know had ocurred.
I would recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested in history.
