As a huge BC fan (doesn't my username just give it away?) I had to eventually watch the entire series of Jack of all Trades. I must say, that was a decision that I'm happy that I took! Jack of all Trades is absolutely intentionally cheesy in its acting, dialogue, and action sequences and it is absolutely deliberate! There rarely is ever a time where the Bruce Campbell/Angela Marie Dotchin duo is giving the audience a reason to not laugh. Everyone does their role to a tee (including a pre-Austin Powers Verne Troyer as Napolean! XD). It is so rare that I watch a television show, since I don't really watch television at all, that I like THIS much. I recommend this to Bruce Campbell fans and anyone looking for a comedic show, especially fun for poking fun at history (oh man the Marquis de Sade episode! XDGreat Series - FromOttawa
If you like ‘tongue in cheek’ television and are happy watching the absurd (along the lines of Hercules and Xena from the late 90s), then you will love this show. The chemistry between the two main characters is fantastic and the writing is actually very smart. If you know a little bit about the American Revolution and the Napoleonic wars it helps (it makes things a bit more amusing) but is not necessary. The cast of supporting characters is funny and the show never takes itself seriously. I strongly recommend this one for TV fans.Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi on TV? - mogilles
If you are not sure what to expect from this TV show, then all I can say is check out anything Bruce Campbell has been involved in, add french revolutionaries and Palau Palau and voila, you have Jack of All Trades. Did I mention Verne Troyer as Napoleon? Oh ya, we're talking good stuff here!
Typical campy campbell/raimi humour. Ridiculous action scenes, pricessly horrible dialogue. Everything you should expect from Sam and Bruce just sanitized a bit for TV.
