This classic comedy is full of laughs. If you want to sit down and enjoy a good movie and laugh constantly, then this is your movie. Follow these zany characters as they learn to be cops....Just don't actually call them and you'll be fine.

I didn't laugh this much in a long time. This is my first Police Academy movie (Police Academy 3), and I thought it was really good. If you enjoy slapstick, screwball comedies, then this is for you. However, I have to warn that it's crude. I think that it should be rated PG-13 instead of PG. Even though everything was played for laughs, there was sexual-related humour and some crude language. Police Academy 4, though, was a lot less funny, and I mean, a lot less. Nothing was able to hold it up. I'd rate it a 2, at most.Timeless classic - dural78
This movie is still funny after all these years. After not watching this movie after some 20 years, it's nice to know that it has survived the test of time. In fact, if it weren't for the old cars, it would be hard to tell what year this movie was made.
The first movie adequately introduces everyone's favorite characters (and their personality quirks), as they go through their academy training. There is great chemistry between these actors. The Blue Oyster Club is introduced as a re-occurring gag throughout the series.
Highly recommended overall.
