Mission: Impossible 3 (HD DVD)
Tom Cruise returns to one of his signature roles, Secret Agent Ethan Hunt, in Mission: Impossible III. In this pulse-racing, mind-bending action thriller, Hunt confronts the toughest villain he's ever faced - Owen Davian (Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman), an international weapons and information provider with no remorse and no conscience.
The film is co-written and directed by J.J. Abrams, who brings his unique blend of action, character, comedy, and drama to the franchise. The millions of loyal viewers of Abrams's landmark creations, the television series "Lost" and "Alias," know what to expect: an enthralling, intricate story with an unexpected and arresting payoff that satisfies on every level.
With M:i:III, Abrams and Cruise turn the spy thriller on its ear as they hark back to the best aspects of the original TV series that inspired the films - a well-connected team of agents centered around a bold and heroic leader, the most exciting action stunts imaginable, and elaborate twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. M:i:III is the action movie audiences have been waiting for.

When Ethan Hunt is compelled to return to the field, his private and professional lives become entangled.
J.J. Abrams manages to make a spy film that stands apart from his tv show Alias. Expertly paced, with a few gripping action sequences. The filmmakers bring back some of the cool elements from the tv show which the previous two installments inexplicably bypassed. Parts of the film aren't very original, but it gradually becomes compelling. Philip Seymour Hoffman creates a menacing - and interestingly soulless - villain.??? - jazzcat
Phillip,
It's sad that you don't know the difference between HD DVD and Standard definition formats but I am not sure why you would relate your ignorance to us? Further, why would you not comment on the DVD version of this same movie instead of this one since you have not seen it?MI 3 - philip
I was so looking to watch this on HD dvd i was dissapointed when I realize my new DVD player doesnt play this.
But I found the original move on regular dvd excellent lots of action for those action buffs. Put this on surround sound and its great.
