The Waltons: Season 4
It's 1936: Hitler and Mussolini threaten the world, King Edward gives up the English throne for love, Gangbusters is on the radio, a movie crew hires John-Boy as a scriptwriter, Mary Ellen applies to nursing school, Jim-Bob discovers a shocking fact about his birth and a fire drives the Waltons from their home. Events large and small, far off and near touch the lives of all 11 Waltons, from Grandpa down to little Elizabeth. They bring tests, tears and triumphs - and bring the closely knit Waltons even closer together.

I have watched the first four seasons of the series and I must say, this is my favorite season so far. I have enjoyed seeing the show wrestle with deeper more meaningful topics like pre-marital sex, drinking, gambling, couple problems and most especially the second World War and Hitler's domination in Europe.
It has given me insight into the true and real struggles of those who lived in the late 30's, during the depression, when the states started to make decisions about how much to be involved in Hitler's diplomacy over Germany.
An amazing show which continues to draw me in. I will forever watch this show and hope one day to own all the seasons for my DVD collection.I wish I lived on Walton's Mountain - Mustang1
I love the feeling I get when I watch this show. It takes me down memory lane to my own childhood in the 70's, when times were easier and life was a lot simpler. It's nice to watch The Walton's and take a break from autopsies, serial killers and mindless, mind numbing reality TV. I'd totally forgot a very young,pre-Three's Company John Ritter was in the show as the reverend Mathew Fordwick. He pops up here and there throughout the first few years of the show and played that role as brilliantly as he played Jack Tripper. I never get enough of the Walton family.
