Extended Edition Of Great Film - kav2001c
The extended edition doesnt really change much from original edition. 15 extra minutes are comprised of 3 main scenes (wolves, river, and battle). The main reason for this set is the great special features on additional discs. If you've never seen Narnia before this makes a fine start. But if you have seen or own original, I cant really justify renting it, as most fans would prefer to own this set.
Very well done film that stays true to the book and is good clean family fun (albeit with Christian overtones) about four childrens adventures when they are forced to move away from London. The children move away from the city and the dangers of the German bombs to an idylic country side manor.
Lucy finds an apparantly enchanted wardrobe which leads to a fantastic world, where she meets a faun, Mr Tummus. He initially tries to kidnap her but decides to let her go when he sees a vision of Aslan the lion.
Her brother Edward also finds the world, but he is corrupted by the evil White Witch, who asks him to deliver his siblings to her in exchange for power (and Turkish Delight).
Peter (the eldest brother) leads the four in battle on behalf of Aslan as they attempt to free Narnia from the Witches grasp. Not so Extended - Scoplin
If you have never seen the Chronicles of Narnia then by all means rent the extended DVD. I have always loved the classic books by C.S. Lewis and was pleased with the movie version. It is an excellent story.
However, if you have seen it the extended version only contains 15 minutes of extra footage. Even some of that is merely the train ride. The final battle scene is a little better but may-be not worth seeing the whole thing again unless you are a big Narnia fan like myself. I guess I was hoping for extended meaning something similar to the LOTR movies ... no that's extended.Excellent and well worth renting!! - fairweather
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe extended version is excellent, as is the bonus material documentary of C.S. Lewis, the creator of the Narnia world series. Top notch rentals, they are highly recommendable. Ziplist them both as you will not be disappointed! :)
