Big Train: Seasons 1 & 2
It's not big and it's not a train. It's just funny. Big Train steams out of the comedy tunnel as realism meets utter stupidity in a cavalcade of daft sketches performed by high-quality actors in stunning costumes and vast sets reminiscent of the worst excesses of DW Griffith. There are also lots of sketches in offices. Along the way we meet shy policemen, pop stars chasing jockeys, a duck in danger, hens in armed combat, a confused Transport Minister, highly charged sexual politics and casual, though necessary, violence.

Not as good as Monty Python - Foreign_film_maniac
I usually love Brit humour, and was hooked on the Pythons when they were flying high. Big Train, however hard the cast tries, just never reaches the Python peaks.
In fact, Big Train is pathetic.
Oh, how I wish this were not so. Who doesn't need a good laugh these days? But I fear you won't find it here.
Sure, some of the ideas are good, if not great. But for some reason, the cast simply can't carry them off and leave us gasping at the ridiculousness of the concept.
My advice: Rent old Python tapes, and let Big Train crash and burn.Hit and mostly miss - Gary3
Most of the material in Big Train is below average as far as British comedy goes. Well it doesn't matter where it comes from it's just below average. There are a few bright spots but so very few that it gets one hoping for the end. I would not recommend this series to anyone who is used to laughing while watching comedy.
