The stories are wonderful, funny and great for kids. cast with a - list actors of the time is engaging for kids and adults alike. However, these short films were made for TV about 20 years ago, so the video and audio quality suffers a bit.
My kids didn't seem to care about the non-widescreen presentation or the static-y sound, and I got a kick out of seeing some actors I haven't seen in a long time.Fantastic hidden gem - Jumpshooter
This was one of my wife's selections. She told me she loved watching it as a kid. I have to admit, I never saw this as a kid and I was skeptical it would be good. It just didn't look that interesting. After watching the first two dvds, I fell in love with the series. The picture and special effects look a little corny but you have to give it a break since it was made in the 80's. Not sure if it is because it was in the 80's but most of the stories have parts that are not children friendly. For example, Robin William's performance in the Frog Prince. He talks about hopping into bed with the princess. The princess takes this the wrong way.
My wife and I had lots of fun trying to identify the actors and actresses in the show. The big name actors, the wonderful fairy tales and the little comic additions to the stories make for some great viewing.
