Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid
One of the most popular screen westerns ever made, this Academy Award winning classic blends adventure, romance and comedy to tell the true story of the West's most likeable outlaws. No one is quicker than Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman) when it comes to get rich quick schemes, and his sidekick Sundance (Robert Redford) is a wizard with a gun. When these two bungling bank and train robbers tire of running from the law, they set out for Bolivia with Sundance's girlfriend (Katharine Ross). Though they can barely speak enough Spanish to communicate 'This is a stick-up', that's only a minor detail to the two nicest "bad-guys" who ever rode the West.

I thought this was gonna be good, but I was really entertained! The best part of the movie was the dialogue. What a screenplay (no wonder it won the Academy award!) I love how they balanced humour with actual suspense and adventure, and how the acting was great, and the chemistry between Redford and Newman is perfect. Love the songs, cinematography was excellent...too bad they didn't make too many more movies together.Surprised! - Schtinker
I don't like westerns....I really don't like old movies at all but I have to say I really, really enjoyed this one! I would have never thought that I would. It was very entertaining! It has such humour in it that it was hard not to laugh. The chemistry between Butch and Sundance was great. I was very entertainted by the whole thing. Of course it was a little long sometimes, or it seemed to be...but that could just be because I have my bias. My boyfriend loves this movie!Classic buddy western - Opinheimer
For some reason I was expecting this to be a comedy, but aside from Paul Newman's lighthearted character and the odd amusing moments (like Robert Redford's disgusted reaction upon arriving in Bolivia), it's a solid western that follows the story of two friends who just can't seem to put their lives as outlaws behind them, no matter how hard they try. The chemistry between the two leads is great, and there are plenty of exciting scenes where they get themselves into tough situations that they have to battle their way out of. A classic western.
