Afro Samurai
Director's Cut
Afro Samurai (voiced by Academy Award nominated Samuel L Jackson) is an epic tale of a black samurai’s hunt for Justice (Ron Pearlman, Hellboy, Alien 3) who murdered his father. Composed by famed artist RZA (Kill Bill, Wu Tang Clan) Afro Samurai blends traditional Japanese culture, funky technology and hip hop to create a brutally fresh entertainment experience.

Anime for the non-believer - Spagged
I myself am not a fan of anime, and the first time I saw the cover of this in the video store, I had a laugh. However, when I caught some of it on spike one night, I decided to zip it. It's the kind of anime that appeals to all action loves. It's heavily stylized and sickeningly bloody. It's dark and bizarre, but with enough funny parts to keep your head above water.
If you're looking for a hard hitting, violent, bloody, dark and amusing cartoon, give it a zip.Fun Bloodthirsty Anime - Bodybag109
The highlight of this series is Sam Jackson's voice work. Tuned and perfectly pitched, it drives the narrative. Other than that, it seems like a bloody Ninja Scrolls derivative with some weird 70s mythology thrown in for good measure. The series has style, but not much else. Each episode plays like a successive over-the-top ninja grudge match. I enjoyed my time spent, but I found myself skimming throught alot of it.Loved it! - Falantar
Very interesting series. If you're looking for an original storyline and in depth character development, you won't find it here. But if you want a fresh new style of anime with some great animation and lots of blood and dismemberment, you will like this one.
