Monk: Season 5
The Real OCD
His extensive dossier of phobias may keep him from working on the police force, but Monk’s not about to let that stop him from solving crimes. Monk’s unconventional methods may just be what’s needed to crack some of San Francisco’s most puzzling and unusual cases.

Monk Doesn't Have to Be the Good - Gaucho
In thinking about the standard, US detective show-it's pretty easy to find a formula and have everyoe stick to an average level of qualty and keep it going until people get tired of looking at the same people one screen(only to be replaced by new people doing similiar things in another show).
And for some reason, "Monk" doesn't want to do just that. Sure, sure- there are standard episodes here and you can, after the 3rd episode, pick up their formula for doing these shows. But then, about every disc, there's an episode that lives up to the promise of the formula but then radically breaks it.
As a result, I think, the actors, script writers, and direction goes beyond just medocre. This, surprisingly, is really good stuff.
And it didn't have to be.
But I'm glad it's here.Monk Rocks - Playful
Monk is the best tv show I've ever seen (and great to see it on DVD without annoying commercials). Monk is a blend of Columbo and Sherlock Holmes with an obsessive compulsive twist. It's hilarious how he solves crimes and frustrates his co-workers with his need for cleanliness, tidyness and orderliness. The show offers mystery, comedy and dips down into everyday emotional issues so basically it has it all (except romance). I can't just watch one show at a time, and I can't wait until the next disc arrives its so great.
