What About Brian is an interesting piece of fluff. You don’t have to think too much when you’re watching it, but it still manages to entertain. It’s kind of like a less funny, more melodramatic version of friends.
It’s about a group of young, beautiful people going about their daily lives in California. Most are married or otherwise taken. Brian however, is still looking for the special person. He realizes that his best friend, Adam’s fiancée is actually the perfect woman for him. But struggles to do the right thing. The other characters all have their own storylines….Deena and Dave have a rocky marriage. They try to have an open marriage with less than stellar results. Nicole is trying desperately to get pregnant; her husband is less enthusiastic about it. Adam hook’s up with a stripper. Both Brian and Dave have employment issues.
It lacks depth at times, and is slightly predictable. But the acting, with the exception of Rosanna Arquette is believable, and the storylines are intriguing enough to keep you watching.
The show only had a few episodes in the first season. So you can see the complete series in this set of discs.
