Original television - Sheenie
When this show first came on the scene in the 80s it was the complete opposite of everything on television. It was the first prime time cartoon, and the (very) flawed characters were a sharp contrast to the perfect family units featured on every sitcom on every station. This is the series that started the ball rolling for less than perfect families that are now standard. The comedy is original but basic, and relies on some pretty base humour. Still, it's lasted over 20 years so they must be doing something right - or something wrong in the right way!Brilliant! - filmgeek
Say what you may about recent seasons losing their edge, any show that has lasted this long and affected pop culture this deeply deserves unending respect.
The voice-work and talent involved in the writing of this show were beyond compare for its time. It is due to the success of this series that we have 'South Park', 'Family Guy' or any number of animated sitcoms which appeal to adults as well as children (in fact, primarily to adults).
This series is highly recomended for nostalgia value alone, let alone the pleasure of an episode-to-episode basis.Lots of laughs - RavenSkies777
Season 10 still keeps the audience laughing and will for sure make any hardcore fan happy.
Many important moments take place in season 10. The last episode with Phil Hartman. Guest stars include Lisa Kudrow, Jerry Springer, Alec Baldwin, Kim Basinger, Ron Howard, and Elton John just to name a few.
Episode "Homer to the Max" is wildly funny and will have you rolling on the floor in a fit of laughter.
