Friday Night Lights: Season 1
Expanding on the hit feature film Friday Night Lights, this poignant series centers on the small rural town of Dillon, Texas, where the coveted state football championship rings are held in the highest regard. Dillon's promising high school team, its star quarterback, and newly appointed head coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler, King Kong, Grey's Anatomy) feel the mounting pressure of the town's pride and honor riding on their shoulders as a new football season kicks off.

Friday Night Lights was a pleasure to watch. Exciting drama, new twists on the original book but yet enough to link it with the much loved Bissinger book. I plan on watching all the seasons of this show...didn't know what I was missing! The acting is excellent, cinematography stunning and the plot is wild!

This is the best season of a splendid show. I'm not a football fan, and it doesn't matter: it's great drama, with unrivalled atmosphere and the fully fleshed out characters make the football scenes gripping even for non-fans like me. Season 2 isn't as bad as advertised, but the show never matches these heights again.A Must See - Cinephreak
Don't be put off by the 'football' aspect of this show. Friday Night Lights is all about the characters and their stories with small town football playing the backdrop to their lives.
The pilot may be the most brilliant pilot ever on television. It sets up the world of Dillion, Texas only to have the world come crashing down right at the end of the episode.
It is a series that can be watched over and over again. It deals with teenagers, love, family, relationships, expectations and all the possibility for the future with the the guts and glory of real life.
If the football made you not tune in, think again and check out this amazing series.
